Reminder: Camp Pomperaug Permission Slips & Payment Due Tomorrow (10/24)

Reminder: The permission slip is available for Camp Pomperaug (Friday 11/8 – Sunday 11/10). Permission slips and payment are due at the 10/24 troop meeting. It is very important to have the permission slips filled out by tomorrow’s meeting so that the scouts can start planning their menus because there isn’t a meeting next week (10/31) due to Halloween. This will also give the scouts more time to shop for the food so they don’t have to do that after the troop meeting on 11/7.

Reminder: Committee Meeting – Tuesday 10/22 @ 7:30 PM

There is a committee meeting at Bill Magnotta’s house (53 Marjorie Lane) on Tuesday 10/22 at 7:30 PM.

Camp Pomperaug (11/8-11/10) Permission Slip

Reminder: Strong Family Farm Harvest Festival Tomorrow

Please volunteer for one or more shifts at the Strong Family Farm Harvest Festival tomorrow.

• 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM (Set up)
• 10:00 AM – Noon (Man the Troop 20/20 vendor table)
• Noon – 2:00 PM (Man the Troop 20/20 vendor table)
• 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Tear down)

No Troop Meeting Tonight

There will not be a troop meeting tonight because the Vernon schools are closed today due to the effects of last night’s storm.

INCLEMENT WEATHER – When Vernon schools are cancelled
due to snow or ice (or any other reason schools are closed) there
will be no Scout Meeting.

Update For Saturday 10/19

The hike that was discussed at the 10/10 troop meeting that was going to replace the day trip to the Nolan property will be rescheduled to a later date so that the troop can focus on the service hours available at the Strong Family Farm Harvest Festival on Saturday 10/19.

Strong Family Farm Harvest Festival Update

There are 2 service hour opportunities on Oct 19 at Strong Family Farm. They need help in the morning setting up from 8:30-10:00 and tearing down from 2:00-4:00. Also, Mr. Houghtaling will man the 2020 vendor table (would like some company). We can’t give out food, so need to find some trinket give aways and maybe have a game people can play. He’d like to get an idea of headcount ASAP, so please email (smhoughtaling@gmail.com) or text (860-308-4869) him if and when you can make it.

Nolan Property Update

The Nolan property campout is being changed to a day trip on Saturday 10/19 due to the risk of EEE and no hard frost in the forecast.

Tomorrow’s Troop Meeting

Scouts may wear Class B uniforms to tomorrow’s Troop meeting.
