Court Of Honor – Thursday 9/26 @ 6:30 PM

Please join us for our Court of Honor on Thursday 9/26 @ 6:30 PM at St John’s church 523 Hartford Turnpike Vernon, CT (Across from Pedal Power). Scout parents and families are welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be an ice cream social. Scouts must wear full Class A uniform.

Parents and families of our scouts…this is a time when we celebrate the accomplishments of our scouts. We encourage everyone to come enjoy some fellowship together as we recognize our scouts for a job well done. Thank you!

Summer Camp 2024 Reminders

Summer camp drop-off is on Sunday 7/28 at 1:00 PM (please eat first, lunch is not served). Our troop is at Site 8B (on the left at the big American flag). You may be directed to the main parking lot and parade field.

Parents are invited to a BBQ and closing ceremony starting at 5:30 PM on Friday 8/2, campfire will start around 7:15 PM. Tickets to dinner can be purchased during drop-off or on Friday evening. The Friday night troop celebration after parents have left is a cornerstone team building activity. Scouts are expected to stay overnight Friday unless scoutmasters have been notified of a critical need to leave before hand. Parents should pick up scouts Saturday morning no later than 9:00 AM.

Please Read: Important Updates From Last Committee Meeting Of Scouting Year

1. Communications/Camping Coordinator Needed Immediately: The troop needs one or more volunteers to fill the role of communications and camping coordinator. The following is a list of the accounts/tools we currently have: Gmail, Google calendar, Google drive, Google photos, Google Form Publisher, Facebook closed group, Facebook public page, Remind text messages, WordPress blog, Microsoft Expression website, SignUpGenius, PosterMyWall, Discord, Instagram. The new volunteer doesn’t have to continue to use the existing accounts/tools but we are available to transfer our knowledge.
2. 6/13 Troop Meeting @ Rockville High School: Please bring snacks to share.
3. Class B Shirt Order: Those attending summer camp will get one shirt (collared for adults and older scouts, tee for younger scouts). Anyone else who wants one or if campers want an additional tee then they need to let Mr. Pezzetti know before the end of June. Cost is $25.
4. Truck Needed For Martha’s Vineyard Bike Trip (9/13-9/15): The troop needs an adult with a truck to volunteer for the Martha’s Vineyard bike trip in order to make the ferry reservation.
5. Girl Troop: Please let Mr. Magnotta know if you are interested in having a girl troop.

Committee Meeting – Tuesday 6/11 @ 7:30 PM

There is a committee meeting at Bill Magnotta’s house (28 Grand Blvd in Ellington) on Tuesday, June 11th at 7:30 PM.

Flag Day Ceremony – Friday 6/14 @ 5:45 PM

There will be a Flag Day ceremony at the Elks on Friday 6/14 @ 6:00 PM. Please arrive by 5:45 PM.

6/13 Troop Meeting Location Moved To Rockville High School

The location for the Troop meeting on Thursday 6/13 is being moved to Rockville High School. Please meet at the upper fields. The scouts will be playing games.

THANK YOU, to our very supportive community! We have settled into a regular schedule now, and have many Regular Customers!

There are currently 3 Options to deposit your collection of Returnables:

• Option 1 (Preferred) – Drop-off; your returnables at the Rockville Elks Lodge 1359, Carriage House Basement Garage (all the way down around the back) Collection & Sorting Operations on Saturday between 9:00 AM and noon.
• Option 2 (by request) – Pick-up; Send an email to t2020ct@gmail.com with your local residential address; put your collection of returnables outside by 9:00 AM, and they will be picked up Saturday before Noon.
• Option 3 (scheduled) – Bulk, Towns other than Vernon / Ellington, other special circumstances; Send an email to t2020ct@gmail.com with your address & any other contact information in order to have a pick-up scheduled outside of our set day.
