What is the deal with Phone Books?
Recently I was asked “What is the deal with Phone Books”? If you are new to troop and have not participated in Phone Books in the past, this is the post you are looking for.
The Spring phone book activity is THE fundraiser for the troop and helps keep costs down for everything from campouts to registration fees.
What is involved:
- Bagging of the books – This can be as little as two nights to a multi- night activity. We meet as a troop we meet at a warehouse with as many friends, family you can ask to help bag the books (along with anyone else we can find).
- Phone Book delivery – You will be provided with a list of locations to deliver books. This year will every house on the street you get will receive a book (easier than in years past).
- Typically we start loading cars on Friday night and continue on Saturday and Sunday.
- Typically the first Saturday and Sunday are the big delivery days however we need to keep going until all of the books are delivered.
That is the high level overview of the phone book process for 2018. We are still working on some of the logistics.
More information to come.
