THANK YOU, to our very supportive community! We are working to settle into
a regular schedule and are targeting the 2nd Saturday of each month.
WANTED: Amazon Boxes; Small – Medium (up to around 12 inches Wide X
18 Long) we know many have been known to get an Amazon delivery or so,
especially these days perhaps, and we could really use your old Amazon
Boxes & Grocery Store Banana Boxes also work really well (boxes from
anywhere will do!) Thank You
There will be a Returnable Containers (for Glass Bottles) & Returnables
Collection – Saturday September 12th @ 9:00 AM – Noon.
Our current & future Returnables Drives (All types of Returnables accepted)
includes Glass Bottle Containers:
– Cardboard / Paperboard Multipack Containers for Glass Bottles; Actual 24
Count Flats (or Cases), 12 Pack “Boxes”, and / or 6 Pack Containers.
- Option 1 (Drive-thru drop off) – Drop off returnable cans and bottles at the
Elks Carriage House Basement Garage (all the way down around the
back) Saturday between 9:00 AM and noon - Option 2 (Pick up) – Send an email to t2020ct@gmail.com with your local
residential address; put the returnable cans, bottles, & Containers (or
“Amazon Boxes”) outside by 9:00 AM, and they will be picked up Saturday

Update For Tonight’s Troop Meeting

Weather permitting, our first troop meeting will be held outdoors on the upper lawn at the Elks tomorrow (9/10) from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM. Note: Meeting will begin a half hour early at 6:30 PM and meeting time will be shortened to one hour. Scouts should bring a chair, bug spray, and hand sanitizer. Scouts may wear Class B uniforms.
There will also be a virtual Zoom option. We are planning for it to be synchronous. If there is inclement weather the meeting will be all virtual.
For those attending in person, please read and review with your scout the outdoor in-person meeting protocols we are putting in place for the safety of our scouts and scout leaders.
- Scouts must be screened by a parent/guardian using the medical screening checklist to determine if they must stay home.
- Scout leaders must screen themselves using the medical screening checklist to determine if they must stay home.
- Carpooling is not allowed. The purpose of this is to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
- To minimize mixing and group size, parent/guardian must remain in their vehicle whether they are dropping off and picking up or staying.
Note: We will be holding a virtual parents meeting to go over this year’s scouting program on Tuesday (9/15) @ 7:30 PM – 8:00 PM. - Masks must be worn at all times.
- Social distancing no less than 6 feet must be observed at all times.
- No bathroom facilities will be available.
For those attending virtually, please read and review with your scout the virtual meeting protocols.
- Your Zoom name must be your actual first and last name or will you not be admitted to the meeting.
- You must have your camera on for your attendance to be counted.
- Screenshots or photos of screens on any device when using any video conferencing platform may not be taken.
- If you use a Zoom profile picture or virtual background it should be appropriate for scouting.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 Scouting Year
Below are some important announcements for the start of the 2020-2021 scouting year.
- Please review the COVID-19 Council Update for the Safe Restarting Scouting guidelines.
- First Troop Meeting: Thursday, September 10th @ 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Our first Troop meeting will be held outdoors at the Elks. Meeting will begin a half hour early at 6:30 PM
and meeting time will be shortened to one hour. Social distancing and mask wearing guidelines will be followed. There will also be a virtual Zoom meeting option. - Annual Dues: $100 and are due in September. We are also asking registered adult leaders to consider donating $60 to cover their registration fee with Council, normally covered
by the Troop. We do not want to deny anyone the Scouting experience due to financial reasons, so we will confidentially work with any families in need. - Returnable Containers (for Glass Bottles) & Returnables Collection: Saturday, September 12th @ 9:00 AM – Noon
- Vernon Rails-To-Trails Bicycle Day Trip: Saturday, September 19th (Rain Date: Sunday, September 20th) – Permission Slip and Pre-Event Medical Screening Checklist coming soon
- Committee Meeting: Tuesday, September 22nd
- Court of Honor: Thursday, October 29th
