Gavin Houghtaling has begun working on his Eagle Service Project this summer and needs your help! The project is to make improvements to the Strong Family Farm Stand in Vernon. He will be adding a retractable awning, a new produce stand, a new flower stand, a new sign and drop box, as well as other small projects around the farm. He needs volunteers to come to the Strong Family Farm at 9am on Saturday, July 20th at 274 West Street in Vernon. He estimates it will be around 4 hours of work, depending on how many volunteers come and pizza lunch will be provided. In the event of rain or not completing the project, July 21st and July 28th have been scheduled to complete any remaining tasks. Also, July 28th is the farm’s annual meeting with their theme being “young people who have been involved in the farm” with short presentations, ice cream sodas and other local goodies beginning at 2pm.
