Date Change: Ben Lipman’s Eagle Project – Friday 7/16 @ 6:00 PM

Ben Lipman Boy Scout Project

Where: Batz Property at 97 Shenipsit Street in Ellington. 

When: Friday, July 16th, 6 PM

The first day, we will be digging and filling a gravel base for a composting unit to rest on. We are looking for approximately 5-10 volunteers, who should bring a good pair of gloves, a water bottle, and shovels if they have one.

Summer Camp Announcement

Last call for summer camp health forms! Forms due by this Friday July 16th the latest. Completed forms include a minimum of 6 pages. Parent is responsible for 5 pages (A, B1, B2, D, and a copy of front and back of insurance card). Doctor needs to complete and sign Page C. Other forms needed if applicable: special health care needs, allergy/asthma emergency treatment plan, and authorization for medications (one form per medication, must be signed by doctor). No late turn-ins can be accepted by the troop due to covid process this year.

THANK YOU, to our very supportive community! We have settled into a regular schedule now, and have many Regular Customers!

There are currently 3 Options to deposit your collection of Returnables:

• Option 1 (Preferred) – Drop-off; your returnables at the Rockville Elks Lodge 1359, Carriage House Basement Garage (all the way down around the back) Collection & Sorting Operations on Saturday between 9:00 AM and noon.
• Option 2 (by request) – Pick-up; Send an email to t2020ct@gmail.com with your local residential address; put your collection of returnables outside by 9:00 AM, and they will be picked up Saturday before Noon.
• Option 3 (scheduled) – Bulk, Towns other than Vernon / Ellington, other special circumstances; Send an email to t2020ct@gmail.com with your address & any other contact information in order to have a pick-up scheduled outside of our set day.

Flag day ceremony 2:00 at Elks

There was a mix up with earlier announcements for the Flag ceremony at the Elks. The ceremony is today, Sunday 6/13, at 2:00 PM, not 1:00. We could still use a few more scouts in class A uniform if they are available.

Open Troop Positions

ATTENTION Troop Scouting Parents; Please see the updated list, and Please Volunteer for the OPEN remaining vacant Troop Positions! With such a large portion of our Scouts being Seniors and aging-out of scouts, it is inevitable that we will have even more openings so please peruse the entire list & descriptions and “apply within” the job is yours! Thank you in advance for your support.

These documents should be submitted to Karen Yencho or Nikki Tolman NO LATER THAN JULY 11, 2021.

For new Boy Scouts who have just crossed over, there is still time to register for camp. We would love to have you join the fun. Troop 20/20’s week of camp is Sunday, August 1, 2021 through Saturday, August 7, 2021. The cost is $450.00. Please let us know as soon as possible if you plan to attend.

Flag Day Ceremony – Sunday 6/13 @ 1:00 PM

There will be a Flag Day ceremony at the Elks on Sunday 6/13 @ 1:00 PM. Six scouts are needed. If your scout is able to participate please have him contact Josh Prignano.
